Nostalgic Collimations

For the 2024 summer show, I am delighted to unveil a selection of new works from the series “Postcards from the Subconscious” with a hallucinogenic twist. These abstract landscapes, decisively linear and charged with nostalgia, may not exist in reality.

The theme revolves around landscapes that may not exist but evoke a sense of nostalgia. These emotionally bending, imagined scenes are interpreted through a process of collimation of light, producing linear fragments. The lines are meant to pacify, mend emotions, and create serene, meditative landscapes where the horizon is present and reassuring. The intricately linked and interplaying lines are made with a calligraphy pen, and this series draws inspiration from Zen art and minimalist art, blending traditional techniques with modern sensibilities.
